This response from my friend Helix84, to a question on the DSpace-general mail list, is the single best resource for XMLUI theming for DSpace: if you start out this way you will save yourself a lot of trouble in the future. Highly recommended.


The ever helpful Nick Ruest (aka ruebot) just mentioned GNU Stow in a mail list posting. So, I thought I’d check it out. Gosh, I’ve been doing source installs wrong for years.

The use case I’m most excited about trying, though, is, similar to the Dotfiles example above: config file management for server configs. I’ve kinda/sorta done this manually for years. It will be really nice to use a dedicated script to keep everything set up correctly.
